THE MANCHIN REPORT: Seasons Greetings from the First Family
By Joe Manchin
Governor of West Virginia
Charleston, WV (HNN) -- Gayle and I extend to you and your
families the warmest of Christmas greetings. As we join with family and
friends,
let us not forget the true spirit of the season.
The holidays are a very special time of the year - a time not only to
reflect,
but also to look forward to a brighter future. This past year has been
filled
with so many blessings for our family. Gayle and I could not be more proud
to
serve such a beautiful state. During our first year as your Governor and
First
Lady, we have worked with so many wonderful people - all committed toward
the
common goal of moving our state forward.
We have always said that the best aspect of our state is its people. West
Virginia is home to the most compassionate, loyal and dedicated people that
You’ll find anywhere in this great nation of ours. That is what makes West
Virginia so special: we are one big family - always seeking ways to help
each
other.
Working together, we’ve made tremendous strides in our efforts to address
the
most critical issues affecting our great state. Looking beyond the New
Year’s
holiday, I am confident that we can continue to build upon the strong level
of
cooperation and dialogue that has been forged to bring even greater success
to
West Virginia in the coming year.
The Mountain State is a better place to work, live and raise a family
because
leaders representing all walks of life - community, labor, business,
education,
seniors and many more - are working together like never before. I look
forward
to continuing this partnership with each of you as we build a more vibrant
quality of life for all West Virginians.
As we share and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of our state during the winter
months, let us not forget the brave men and women who are protecting us here
at
home and abroad. They are working this holiday season so we can safely enjoy
ours. Let us always appreciate their bravery and keep them and their
families in
our hearts as we celebrate this season.
Gayle and I wish you and your family a bright and joyous Christmas, happy
holidays, and a New Year filled with good health and prosperity.
