Huntington (HNN) — David A. Felinton took the oath of office administered by the Honorable Judge Dan O’Hanlon at Huntington City Hall, Saturday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2005 to become the mayor of the City of Huntington for another four years.
 
Felinton came to Huntington in 1994 to attend Marshall University. He graduated with honors from Marshall University with a degree in Political Science.
 
He ran for mayor in 2000 and won taking office on Jan. 1, 2001. During his first term as mayor Felinton took the city from a deficit of millions to a balanced budget for the past two years.
 
Felinton sees a bright future for Huntington with economic growth and a prosperous future.
 
Also getting a lot of attention was Felinton's son Samuel Lee that was born on October 9, 2004.
 
The beautiful voice of Dr. Gary L. Patton served as the master of ceremonies for the inauguration ceremony that took place in the hallway. Father John Dixon gave the invocation. Bishop Samuel Moore gave the benediction.
 
Music was provided by Denis Chapman and a reception followed the ceremony where Felinton and his wife Bethany cut the inaugural cake. View Images.
