LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Korean War Combat Vet Urges Election of Kim Wolfe

During World War II, America lost thousands of men in Sherman tanks because it took four Sherman tanks to equal one German Tiger tank.

The first American troops to go into Korea, the Smith Brigade, were slaughtered because they couldn't fight the Russian-made North Korean T-34 tanks.

West Virginia has more Medal of Honor winners in proportion to our population than any state in the Union. The Army, knowing we had to have a better tank, finally developed the M1 tank. It can dominate a battlefield, and can shoot farther and more accurately than any other tank in the world.

When it came up for a vote in Washington, Congressman Rahall voted against the M1 tank. I called Rahall to ask why, and he told me he “thought there were better ways to spend the money."

Rahall chose not to serve in the military. I am a combat veteran of the Korean War.

Please help me elect Kim Wolfe, a combat veteran and true patriot, to represent the people of West Virginia. The brave men and women from West Virginia serving their country have a right to expect support from their Congressman. Rahall brags that he votes for monies for veterans’ hospitals.

Don't you think it makes more sense to give our troops, in harm's way, better equipment, including the M1 tank and body armor? You can show your support for our troops by voting for Kim Wolfe for Congress.

Respectfully,
