Bluefield, WV (BNN) -- Just before eight o’clock Monday morning, a
17-year-old male, who is a student of Bluefield High School, reportedly fell
from a moving vehicle as it traveled down Cumberland Road. Two males of
similar ages were at the scene but fled as authorities arrived, leaving the
boy face down, unconscious and bleeding on the roadway.
Indications are that the boy suffered some head trauma in the accident. He
is now at Princeton Community Hospital listed in critical condition.
Temporary Half-Pricing Allowed in Virginia
Richmond, VA (BNN) -- As a result of Governor Warner declaring a limited
state of emergency due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, a temporary waiver
was issued allowing gas stations to use half-pricing with older pumps which
are technically unable to register a price above $2.99 a gallon.
Some older pumps in the Commonwealth were manufactured in the days when no
one could envision gasoline prices topping $3 a gallon. Normally pumps are
required to accurately display the price of motor fuels. Stations using
half pricing will register the cost of a half-gallon at the pump but post an
explanation saying that the total sale price will be doubled.
All other signage at these stations must list the actual price of a gallon
to avoid further confusion.
The waiver runs through the end of November 2005.
