Grandview, WV (HNN) -- The view at Grandview, east of Beckley in Raleigh
County, is indeed grand with a horseshoe curve carved out by the New
RIver giving a scenic view of
the West Virginia hills for miles around.
There was still some color on the leaves on the surrounding trees even
though muted on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 25. The cool breezy sunny fall
day made it an ideal day for a jacket. The parking lot at one point
was almost empty.
The Town of Prince can be seen in the distance down the
valley and trains passing below can be heard and seen as they wind
their way around the horseshoe land formation in the New River Gorge
National Park.
