If the polls are to be believed, the US Senate race between Incumbent
Republican Senator Mike DeWine and Democratic
challenger Sherrod Brown could spell disaster for the
GOP.
Current polls show the challenger with a double digit
lead over his incumbent rival.
The problem for the GOP with this scenario is that
Ohio is a centrist state and DeWine is a centrist
Republican.

Mike DeWine

Remember it was DeWine who joined Senators McCain and
Byrd among others who compromised when the Senate
Republicans wanted to end the practice of the
filibuster to preserve the rule.
If this race exemplifies trends across the nation, The
GOP has lost the center and without it their grip on
power will be lost too.
