Virginia's 3rd District House Race A Barn Burner

Tazewell, VA (BNN) -- A large turnout is expected today (Tuesday, June 12, 2007) for the Democratic primary election in the 3rd district seat of the Virginia House of Delgates.
Incumbent Dan Bowling (D- Tazewell) will try to hold off a strong, and well financed, challenge by Buchanan County attorney Mickey McGlothlin.
Bowling has served in the House for the last two years. He previuosly served three years as a member of the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors and seven years as a member of the Tazewell County Public Service Authority.
McGlothlin, an attorney in Buchanan County, serves on the boards of the Appalachia College of Pharmacy and the Appalachian School of Law. He also served as Commonwealth's Attorney from 1980 thru 1983.
The third district is comprised of Buchanan, Russell, and all but two precincts of Tazewell Counties. Keep watching BNN for election results from Virginia, and from the municipal elections in West Virginia.
