No. 28 Herd Tennis Falls to No. 44 Princeton, 5-2
Marshall drops its first match of the season

Princeton, NJ (HNN) – The No. 28 Marshall University women’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon, March 6, falling to the No. 44-ranked Princeton Tigers, 5-2.
The Herd dropped two-of-three doubles matches with its sole win coming in third doubles as Deanna Bailey and Thaddea Lock defeated the duo of Hoffman/Saiontz, 8-5.
In singles action, No. 1 Michaela Kissell and No. 6 Kristina Koprcina recorded wins as Kissell defeated Ashley Bartlett 6-1, 6-2, and Koprcina topped Sarah Hoffman 6-3, 6-3.
“Princeton played all the bigger points well today,” head coach John Mercer said. “They were more consistent all day, but hopefully we can bounce back and get a win on Monday against Virginia.”
The Herd is back in action on Monday afternoon, March 8, when the Virginia Cavaliers pay a visit to the Huntington Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
