Marshall Men’s Golf Concludes USF Invitational
Three golfers improve for the Thundering Herd

Dade City, FL (HNN) -- Three Marshall golfers improved on day three for the Thundering Herd as the men’s golf team completed its final round of play at the USF Invitational, at Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla., on Sunday afternoon, March 7, 2010.
Nathan Kerns (Fr., Ironton., Ohio, Ironton H.S.) improved three strokes and shot a MU tournament-team-low 72 to conclude the tournament at six-over-par, and tied for 41st place (75-75-72=222).
Carson Schambach (So., Glen Dale, W.Va., John Marshall H.S.) and Bennett Boyer (So., Millersburg, Pa., Millersburg Area H.S.) each shot a three-over-par on day three. Schambach shaved off six strokes from day two to finish 111th at 20-over-par (80-81-75=236)
Boyer finished just two strokes back from Schambach in 115th place (86-77-75=238) after improving two strokes in the final round.
Bosten Miller (So., Charleston, W.Va., Capital H.S.) and Aaron Boggs (RS-Fr., Madison, W.Va., Scott H.S.) each shot an 82 on Sunday to finish tied for 96th (77-73-82=232) and 118th (83-77-82=242), respectively.
Florida Southern College shot a 283 in the third round of play to hang on and win the USF Invitational at 12-under-par (288-281-283=852).
Florida Southern College’s Matt Stauch shot one-under-par on the final day to add onto his lead and finish the tournament in first place for the second year in a row. Stauch concluded this year’s tournament at 12-under-par (68-65-71=204), improving upon last year’s victory at nine-under-par.
The Herd ended the tournament in 23rd place as a team, shooting a 304 on the final day (315-302-304=921).
Marshall returns to tournament action as it travels to Pinehurst, N.C. for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on March 12-14.
