Hinton, WV (HNN) – After losing the position to the Lewisburg-Rainelle area for a couple of weeks, Parkersburg once again is the lowest-price gasoline leader in the state, with prices of $2.14 observed Monday, Dec. 26, 2005 at Chevron and 7-11 stations. Hinton prices were stuck at $2.29 at the Go-Mart and Exxon stations in town; this price was also the benchmark at the Chevron and BP stations in Beckley and Oak Hill.

Checking with http://www.westvirginiagasprices.com I found that Smith Mart in Moundsville had regular at $2.16 a gallon. For a penny more -- $2.17 a gallon – shoppers out and around the day after Christmas could gas up on regular in Lewisburg and Rainelle at the Go Mart, Shell and Exxon stations.

Lower prices arrived in the Huntington area with $2.18 a gallon regular at the Chevron in Kenova and $2.18 regular at the Speedway in Ceredo. In Huntington proper Speedway had regular at $2.30 a gallon on Dec. 26. The Chevron in Charles Town had regular at $2.31 a gallon on Dec. 26.

Charleston area gasoline prices on Dec. 26, 2005 ranged from $2.19 to more than $2.39 a gallon, with the higher prices generally in Charleston proper and the lower prices at stations in Jefferson, Nitro, Cross Lanes and Teays Valley.
