GASOLINE SURVEY
Lower Prices Prevail Throughout WV – So Far

Hinton, WV (HNN) – Gasoline prices in Hinton finally dropped to $2.19 on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, after staying stuck at $2.29 a gallon for more than a month at the Chevron Foodmart in Avis, Jarrell’s Exxon in Bellepoint, Go Mart in Avis, as well as the Exxon and Cargo stations on the bypass.
 
Statewide, the lowest observed price on Oct. 21, 2006 was $2.05 a gallon at Cornermart in Bluefield, down a nickel from last week’s low of $2.10 a gallon a gallon at the Sam’s Club in Vienna, according to http://www.westvirginiagasprices.com. Gas was $2.08 at the Sunoco in Keyser on Oct. 21 and $2.10 at the Sam’s Club in Vienna, the same as last week. In Huntington, regular was $2.09 a gallon on Oct. 21 at BP and $2.11 at Speedway and Go Mart. Across the state line in Kentucky, regular was fetching $2.05 a gallon at Flying J in Catlettsburg on Oct. 21.
 
Among the higher prices on Oct. 21 were $2.34 a gallon at the Chevron station in Charles Town, $2.34 at Mobil in Elkins, $2.29 a gallon at Sheetz in Philippi and $2.29 at Sunoco on Rt. 19 in Bradley, near Beckley.
 
In the Charleston area, the lowest observed price on Oct. 21, 2006 was $2.12 at the TA Travel Center in Nitro, up from last week’s area lowest of $2.10 at Chevron in Poca, according to http://www.charlestongasprices.com. The same $2.12 was spotted at Pilot in Nitro and Go Mart in Hurricane. Go Mart and 7-11 had regular for $2.13, the same as last week. Citgo in Charleston had the highest price in the area, $2.36 a gallon on Oct. 21, the same as last week. The Exxon in St. Albans was pricing regular at $2.30 on Oct. 21; the Exxon in Central Charleston had regular at $2.25, a price also observed at Chevron in Charleston and many other stations in Charleston, South Charleston, Belle and Comfort.
